I saw the movie when it came first came out and was very pleased with it. I'm a fan of the cable show and I was not disappointed in the movie. I purchased the DVD for my lady friend who is 78 yrs old. She's been enjoying watching Gilles Marini on Dancing with the Stars and has asked me several times, who they is. What better way to show her who is is? Literally! I hope he doesn't get a heart attack after watching it!
they do not subscribe to HBO, so I never saw the TV series until it came on TBS last year (2008). I got hooked to the series and enjoyed the movie. This is definatley a "Woman's Movie" or three for a man who wants to understand women better ( the basic nature of a woman.) This movie is not for somebody under the age of 17 because of the language and nudity. I do hope they make a sequel to the movie.
Being male and straight, I was surprised that I actually liked the movie. Not lots of special effects and no action scenes (well, OK, lots of action, not the shoot 'em up kind). It was kind of fun to watch, and the women looked great on Blu-Ray. Although, I think Mr. Big should have high-tailed it out of there...
I've been a luke warm fan of the series for some time. I find the later episodes a lot more entertaining. I still watch the reruns, though ;) I was looking forward to seeing The Movie but chose not to go to the movie theater. I watched it on Movies On Demand. I had relatively low expectations but was very pleasantly surprised. I ordered the DVD and have viewed several times since. I'd consider it the perfect chick flick of the season ;)) All in all, if you liked the series even slightly, you will definitely enjoy the movie.
Yes i am a guy and I admit i like Sex and the City, I felt like the movie was liking having a seventh season of the show admittedly the movie felt long but it didn't matter, the story was very compelling and I felt they delivered for the fans. I know it sounds cliché but I actually believe that Sarah Jessica Parker loves this series and delivered a fantastic movie for the fans. and the fashions of the movie were all great also. I can't understand why people hate on these ladies basically because they are older, I say bless them for feeling liberated at their ages, I feel these 40+ ladies look a lot better than most 20 year olds!
